DESCRIPTION:Windworks presents: \n\nVeterans Day Fall Fly on TI \n\nNovember 9th and 10th\,  2019 - 10am-5pm\n\nKITE FESTIVAL ON TREASURE ISLAND BEACH TO HONOR VETERANS\n\nThe 7th Annual "Veterans Day Fall Fly on TI" is scheduled this year for November 9th & 10th on Treasure Island Beach behind the Thunderbird Beach Resort. The theme for the weekend  "Honor America's Veterans"\, featuring red\, white and blue kites\, banners and flags galore. This free\, family-oriented event will feature general kite flying\, kite games\, stunt kite lessons\, demos\, bubbles and all things that decorate the sky! \n\nThere is no formal competition however\, the event is geared to prep novice kite flyers of all ages to learn what competition is like for the larger official competition on January 18th & 19\, 2020 that is held in the same fabulous location. New and experienced flyers are encouraged to bring out their best Red\, White and Blue and share the freedom of kite flying by including the public and sharing kite knowledge. This will a great opportunity to honor Veterans by flying a kite.\n\nPublic parking is available in the following locations: Public lot across the street from the Waffle House on Gulf Blvd\, and at 104th Ave Gulf Blvd.\n\nThe festival is sponsored by Windworks\, The City of Treasure Island\, our host hotel and top sponsor for over 20 years The Thunderbird Beach Resort. Contact the Thunderbird for room reservations at (727) 367-1961. Let them know you are coming for the festival for a special rate! \n\nThe kite festival will launch at 10am Saturday\, November 9th with the National Anthem and continue with demos and displays throughout the weekend. After dark on Saturday\, kite flyers are urged to add lights to their kites for a night fly (weather & wind permitting).
